GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - With the installation of new scoreboards and the foundation for adding 6,700 new seats in the south end zone at Lambeau Field, officials decided to take Monday as a celebration day.
The Green Bay Packers hosted a beam signing ceremony for construction representatives, Packers officials and local dignitaries Monday.
Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy says it was the first time many of the guests were able to see the full project up close.
“I think for a lot of people it was their first time to see the project from the inside. I think obviously you drive by, you can see some things, but being inside the bowl and looking up, I think people really enjoyed being able to see the project from that vantage point,” said Murphy. Officials say the $143 million renovation is nearly halfway complete.
Murphy touted the project as both a way for the Packers to stay competitive and improve the fans gameday experience.
